Diya's for Change '20

"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can’t repay you- John Bunyan”

We at New Leaf believe that giving back is our duty not charity.

We believe that it is our collective responsibility to give back to communities and societies that have invested so much in us and contribute to who we are and what we can achieve. It also gives us an opportunity to know the communities we serve better.

This Diwali, millions of lamps will be lit as communities unite to celebrate the triumph of good over evil, and hope over despair.

In an attempt to embrace the festival’s theme of renewal and prosperity, we at New Leaf thought what better way to do so than by supporting our V.D.I.S. kids!

Diwali being the best time of year to share your joy with someone else, we at New Leaf have strengthened our long standing affiliation to and affinity for V.D.I.S. School For Mentally Challenged People, Mumbai.

Diwali in essence is celebrated to spread and kindle light in people and places.

Giving back to society has always been an essential part of New Leaf’s identity. Hence, this Diwali we took an initiative to support, encourage and promote the artistic talents of our V.D.I.S. kids. We incorporated their stunning handmade diya’s into our sales of which all proceeds will be given directly to V.D.I.S.

To us, Diwali is not just a commercialised festival but one that can be devoted to the service of community and the people who live within it.

“At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even about what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.- Denzel Washington”
